Mazda RX-7: Part 7
One reason the third generation RX-7 handles so sweetly is due to the rear suspension's surprisingly sophisticated toe control geometry. However, with stickier tires, more power, and improved braking, higher stresses are placed on suspension members-- causing excessive bushing compliance. Replacing the stock trailing arms and toe links with solid, race-quality counterparts completely eliminates the compliance in those areas. This provides more predictable at-the-limit handling. As an added bonus, the toe links also solved an eminently annoying, low-speed "klunking" noise that irritated us for months.
