The ultra-comprehensive Jackson Racing supercharger kit comes with everything you will need--right down a small roll of electrical tape used to cover up the minor wire splicing!

The supercharger mounting brackets simply bolt to the exhaust manifold flange. Since the superchager obscures everything on this side of the engine compartment, this will be the last time we get to look at our pretty BrainStorm headers.

The pulley assembly is the lifeblood of the supercharger system. It must be reliable

This is how the Miata should be equipped from the factory--boosted and angry, with enough potency to give a Type R a run for its money. While we are perfectly happy with the visuals, Oscar Jackson insists the cross tube can be made more attractive. By the time you read this, a new cross tube should be in production. OK, whatever.

Who would have thought that such a tiny piece of aluminum could have such a profound effect on enriching the fuel delivery of our stock EFI system? Without a traditional manifold-referenced fuel pressure regulator and fuel return line to play around with, the little pill fit the bill.

The fuel pump is buried under the carpet on the rear shelf. This would be really easy to get to if you could do it with the top down, but since that's where the top goes when you put it down, you're out of luck.

While the Walbro high-flow pump is noticeably louder than the stock unit, the extra fueling capabilities make us rest well at night. While some may think 255 liters per hour is overkill for our relatively low output application, it is surprisingly appropriate given the fact that we are asking our pump to continually support higher-than-normal fuel pressures.

As with most supercharger applications, the stock throttle body is relocated to the inlet of the blower. In its place goes a dummy throttle body which houses the factory idle control motor, which gets plumped back into the inlet on the other side of the engine. Mounted on the side of the dummy throttle body is the pressure switch used to trigger the electrical grounding of the stock air intake temperature sensor.

Controlling the Jackson Racing BTM box, this little knob allows the user to tailor the maximum amount of ignition retard. Each detent accounts for just 1/8th of a degree with a maxium retard variation of only 2 degrees. From our street testing, running 92 octane, we have found that only 3-4 clicks (a mere 3/8 to 1/2 degree of additional retard) is necessary to prevent knock.

Not only do the EBC pads work as advertised, they are also quite pretty! And no, the brake dust is not green.
