There is no other event where you can see a race and show cars of this caliber. With this event, World Race Events is raising the bar of Import / Sport Compact Car performance to new heights. With more money, more cars, and more fans, the 2001 Mobil 1 World Import Challenge promises to be the most enjoyable, exciting race and show that you, your family, and friends will ever attend.
The gorgeous and expansive Houston Raceway Park will host the WIC1. It all goes down on June 8-10, 2001, so please mark your calendars and plan to join us. In attendance will be some of the hottest superstars in the Import / Sport Compact Car industry. A crowd of more than 40,000 fans will look on as over 600 racecars battle for their piece of the $100,000 guaranteed purse that is up for grabs. No one ever imagined this kind of money for an Import / Sport Compact Car drag racing event and only World Race Events can bring it to the table. The Mobil 1 World Import Challenge has it all. We are offering 10 drag racing classes; here, every type of racer will have a class to compete in.
If you would rather show off your car, then join Import Tuner magazine's Auto Show Spectacular. The competition will be fierce for the huge trophies and the bragging rights that go with them. As a fan, there simply is no other event in the world where you can witness such a wide range of Import / Sport Compact vehicles. From the stock sport compact cars, all the way to the wildest custom-modified, the top contenders will be competing at the Mobil 1 World Import Challenge on June 8 -10 at Houston Raceway Park.

More than 100 companies will be represented, looking to sell parts and answer your toughest technical questions regarding their products. Race Registration And Tech Inspection* Racers pay general admission at the gate ($40)* Find an appropriate parking space in the pits.* Walk to registration tent/trailer with your three-day pass.* Show your ticket and pay only the difference for race entry and credentials. Cash only please!* Fill out tech card and take car through NHRA safety tech.* After NHRA safety tech, proceed through WRE class tech* After WRE class tech, proceed back to the pits and await the call to lanes.* Be sure to bring your run card with you to the lanes.Do Not Lose It! It will be required in order to compete.
Time Trials, Qualification And Elimination* PA announcements can be heard on 88.9 FM channel.* All runs will be made in sessions.
